Consulting & Venture Building

We are professionals who develop research and build companies, services and products
in healthcare, life sciences and digital health

ABOUT

DMBranco develops research and builds ventures in healthcare, life sciences and digital health.

As a consultancy specialized in health care investments, it raised over USD 25 million for health technology companies, such as Bionexo and Medicinia, and backed private equity and venture capital deals, providing intelligence for funds such as Patria Blackstone, Angra Partners, Tarpon and Monashees. Some non-investment consulting clients have been Bupa International, ClearCare, Medtronic, Roche, Bradesco Saúde, The Economist Intelligence Unit, the IFC – International Finance Corporation, PwC, Bain & Co., and others.

As venture builder, DMBranco has helped build three virtual health startups: Medicinia and DrChat in Sao Paulo, and Ponto Care, in NYC. Ponto Care provides complex diagnostic exams at the patient’s home on behalf of referring providers. Medicinia provides a CRM (Clinical Relationship Management) platform to some of the largest hospitals, insurers and health systems in Brazil. DrChat is a pioneering online medical visits platform that has been mediating care to thousands of patients along the Covid-19 pandemic.

PAST VENTURE BUILDING PROJECTS

Companies that made history

Medicinal was the first webportal to answer medical questions from patients in Brazil. Questions were publicly posted to a community of medical students and medical residents who answered the questions. The portal was acquired by the Medical Association of Rio Grande do Sul State and discontinued after impacting over 100,000 people.

Fornix is an arched structure of the limbic system in the brain, but was also the name of one of the first EMR systems in Brazil that was fully deployed on the cloud at a time a cloud was just a fluffy thing in the sky.
